Prominent social media practitioners including former presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, Fox News analyst Brit Hume and actor Adam Baldwin are among the many tweeting messages of support to radio host and pundit Erick Erickson, who on Sunday night revealed a serious diagnosis.
CNN media reporter Brian Stelter, Alabama State Sen. Phil Williams, Texas radio host Chad Hasty and New York Post columnist John Podhoretz also have offered words of solace.
Atlanta’s Morning News host Scott Slade offered some well wishes during this morning’s broadcast on News 95.5 FM/AM750 WSB.
“Many hopes he’ll be back on the air very soon,” he said. “If you’re the praying sort, I hope you’ll send one Erick’s way.”
WSB Program Director Pete Spriggs is unsure when Erickson will return to air for his 5 p.m.-to- 7 p.m. show, but is encouraged from word from Erickson that he could be back on by the end of this week.
“Over the course of the past few weeks my lungs have been filling with blood clots,” Erickson revealed in an open letter posted online. “The technical term in the medical report is that my lungs are “showered” with clots.”
His message said he’s been in the hospital since Thursday and will “need a few more days before I again engage with the world…I will write this, then I’m going to disappear again to heal.” The full message is posted here.
