Cherokee County restaurant becomes Jason Bateman filming site

A Cherokee County restaurant known alternately as Little River or Mambo on the Lake wasn’t exactly a runaway hit, online reviews suggest: “Cold, potentially hazardous food” .. “When the waitress brought her her beer, she said it tasted like soap” .. “The Little River Bar & Grill should be shut down.”

You got your wish, Internet, and you have Jason Bateman to thank. The establishment at Bells Ferry Road has ceased being a functioning restaurant and will now serve as a filming location for Bateman’s new Netflix series, Scoop OTP reports.

Bateman’s previous work in metro Atlanta includes just-wrapped “Office Christmas Party,” due out in December, as well as “Identity Thief” and “The Change-Up.”

He’ll star in, direct and executive-produce the new Netflix project, called “Ozark,” which Deadline reports will “take place in the dark and dangerous world of drug-money laundering. The series takes its name from the location where it is set, The Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.”

Only it’ll be filming at Lake Allatoona in Georgia.
