The new “Jumanji” reboot with Kevin Hart, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Nick Jonas, Jack Black and Karen Gillan and a host of others is filming now in Atlanta.
“In a brand new Jumanji adventure, the tables are turned as four teenagers are sucked into Jumanji’s world – pitted against rhinos, black mambas and an endless variety of jungle traps and puzzles,” Sony’s publicity department says. “To survive, they’ll play as characters from the game: meek Spencer becomes a brave explorer (The Rock); hulky jock Fridge becomes a tiny genius (Hart); It-girl Bethany becomes a bookworm professor (Black); and unathletic Martha becomes an amazonian warrior (Gillan). To beat the game and return to the real world with their lives, they’ll have to start seeing things in an entirely different way.”
Filming started in Hawaii before heading to Atlanta. What timing, too – after 42 days of no rain, we get a deluge and tornado warnings.
Here’s how Nick Jonas, Jack Black and Karen Gillan sheltered during the worst of it:
The Rock hasn’t posted yet today but looks like he’s really get into the part:
Apparently my 260lbs is too much for the actual vines in the Hawaiian jungles to hold me without breaking and me falling hundreds of feet. So for safety purposes, I'm forced to swing thru #Jumanjj on wires strong enough to hold 12 adult buffaloes and 1 adult Rock. #OnSet #Jumanji #IronicallyIEatBuffaloDailyForLunch #MoreManThanNatureKnowsWhatToDoWith
