Need some collards for your New Years feast? Neiman Marcus delivers .. for about 80 bucks.
Not that we expect you to go that route.
We posted a little item earlier about Neiman Marcus’ high priced collards and social media at the outset of the holiday season and lots of folks promptly lampooned the notion:
To recap, the luxury retailer advertises the item for $81.50. The batch serving eight to 10 diners is $66 (plus $15.50 for the delivery) and is available on its web site. They’re “seasoned with just the right amount of spices and bacon” and shipped cooked and frozen. You just heat them up and serve.
Note they can’t be shipped Saturday, Sunday, Monday or holidays – so plan ahead. If you’d like other dishes, Neiman’s has this tasty broccoli cheese casserole for about 80 bucks. Bargain hunting? This potato casserole is on sale for just $52.50.
If you like to cook and would like to save at least $77, Instacart will deliver fresh or canned collards from Kroger to your house for a few bucks. They’re probably a little less expensive if you go to the store yourself.
If you’d like someone else to do the cooking and would like a full meal to complement your collards, Sunday brunch at Paschal’s is $24.95 per person and includes collards as a side item, plus lots of other delicacies:
