Why Uma Thurman, Robert De Niro and Cheech Marin are in Atlanta

Uma Thurman, Robert De Niro and Cheech Marin are teaming up for a comedy called “The War With Grandpa” and have been spotted out and about.

De Niro was among the celebs who dined Monday night at Yebo Beach Haus on West Paces Ferry Road. (Also in the house that night: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Naomie Harris and Malin Akerman, who are in town for “Rampage.”)

The crew feasted on dishes such as the seafood paella, ribeye, curry crab claw and sockeye salmon and De Niro posted for this great photo with Yebo’s Justin Anthony.

Marin also dined at Chops, and posed for a photo with Caceres and General Manager Kevin Brown.

“The War With Grandpa” is De Niro’s second locally grandfather-themed movie, but it doesn’t sound anywhere near as raunchy as “Dirty Grandpa,” which he filmed with Zac Efron.

The plot, per imdb:

“Peter (Oakes Fegley) is thrilled that Grandpa is coming to live with his family. That is, until Grandpa moves into Peter’s room, forcing him upstairs into the creepy attic. And though he loves his grandpa he wants his room back – so he has no choice but to declare war. With the help of his friends, Peter devises outrageous plans to make Grandpa surrender the room. But Grandpa is tougher than he looks. Rather than give in, Grandpa plans to get even.”

As my colleague Rodney Ho reported previously, “The War With Grandpa” initially was scheduled to shoot in Toronto but made a last-minute switcheroo, no doubt due to Georgia’s film-friendly tax policies. It’s due out in October.
