Why a Marvel director is offering $100,000 to Trump’s favorite cause

“Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn is no fan of President Donald Trump or his policies, and yet he’s offering to stroke a six-figure check to Trump’s charity of choice. There’s just one catch.

The presidential physical results are out and Gunn is dubious about one set of stats in particular: Trump’s reported dimensions of 6’3″ and 239 pounds.

Gunn, who directed Atlanta-filmed “Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2” and has said No. 3 is coming next, suggests in a number of tweets that the president is shorter, heavier, or both – and says he’ll support a Trump-selected charity if POTUS will step on a neutral scale. It’s not clear who coined the #GirtherMovement hashtag but he’s embraced it.

Incidentally Trump’s Fake News Awards “ceremony” was supposedly going to be today but he hasn’t said anything about it. And by said, we mean tweeted. That is how he announced the event, originally planned for Jan. 8 and perhaps postponed as he was in Atlanta for the national championship game that day.

So, we’ll see.

Gunn did come in for some criticism, which does not seem to bother him:
